PGMA VISITS BANISILAN

Kidapawan City- President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo arrived in North Cotabato to visit Barangay Malinao, Banisilan as she led the inauguration of the 2.7 kilometer completed section of the Banisilan-Guiling-Alamada-Libungan Road Network Concreting Project last November 04, 2009.
The P67 million road project was implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 12 under its Regular Infra Program. The completion of the road concreting project is part of the President’s mandate to fast track all infrastructure projects before her term ends in 2010. The department however assures that quality and road safety was given utmost importance despite fast-track mode.
President Arroyo personally checks all her infrastructure projects to make sure her legacy are completed before she bows out of office. Her infra development programs aim to link up urban and rural economies and spur growth nationwide. In Banisilan, the road project will speed up travel and the transportation of agricultural products and other goods and services going to the provinces of Lanao del Sur and Bukidnon.
Meanwhile, the people of Banisilan expressed their gratitude to the good President as she awarded livelihood assistance to some of the residents in Barangay Malinao which includes a check worth P125,000 to each beneficiary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)- Comprehensive Livelihood Emergency Employment Program (CLEEP).
The President also turned over the Department of Agriculture (DA) certificates of forty (40) units of Community-Based Composting Facility (CBCF) for the province of North Cotabato amounting to P14 million under the Organic Fertilizer Production Project-Region 12 to Gov. Sacdalan while the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) received 1,000 mahogany seedlings in support to the tree planting activities in the said municipality.
Ms. Leizl Fernando, president of the Thailand Self-Employment Assistance para sa Kaunlaran Program (SEA-K) was granted a micro-finance project to help small scale businessmen such as canteen vendors and skylab drivers. Fernando thanked the President as it helps more Banisilan residents especially the poor ones.
The President was welcomed by North Cotabato Governor Jesus Sacdalan, 1st District Representative Emmylou TaliƱo Mendoza, Banisilan Mayor Betty Allado, Brgy Malinao Chairman Rogel Balibadlan, DPWH Region 12 Director Sinaolan Macarambon, PNP Cotabato Provincial Director S/Supt Norberto batislaong and 602nd Brigade Commander Col Alexander Estomo.
