FAVORABLE SURVEY RESULT FOR VILLAR A HOAX

When will these politicians learn? It seems that everyone is still agog over who gets the top rank in pre-elections surveys that they fail to see where such drastic activities will painfully lead to and how it has been virtually disrupting our country’s democracy. Despite calls to have this kind of surveys banned, political parties are still stubbornly commissioning these mind-conditioning activities to deliberately get ahead of their adversaries and to project a situation that is entirely bereft of reality.
Take the latest series of Social Weather Station (SWS) survey results where presidential candidate Manny Villar was shown to be slowly inching his way to the top and gradually closing his gap, in points, with presidential wannabe Noynoy Aquino of the Liberal Party. Because of these developments, almost everyone are now saying that the race between the two contenders has turned into a highly competitive race to the top and therefore expected to be an exciting electoral battle. Such statements only prove that the recent turn of survey events has glaringly and quite unfairly forced the Pinoy voters to accept the ludicrous notion that the upcoming May 2010 fight will only be between Noynoy and Villar.
Of course, such an absurd concept can only be so well planned. An unimpeachable source revealed that one of the stakeholders in the 2010 polls has crafted this “script” to calculatedly compel the Nacionalista Party to relax their campaign strategy but in the end plan to turn the tables on Villar, especially by ensuring the C-5 scandal will do its case. Such ploy is intended to show that no one can usurp Noynoy’s place – despite the onslaught of campaign ads their opponents plaster - as the most viable presidential candidate for the country. This is also aimed at creating a snowball effect among the voting populace and to intentionally create a problem in case another presidentiable wins. Apparently, Juan dela Cruz is indeed that gullible to fall for such cheap tricks.
Was it not the same allegation used by Senator Miriam Santiago – who topped almost all the pre-election surveys during the 1992 elections – against her stalwart adversary Fidel Ramos when the latter won the presidential polls? Will we see a repeat of such tactic? The answer would have to be on the affirmative.
